Elizabeth “Betty” Hines, 93, of Lake Odessa went to her heavenly father on December 7, 2018 peacefully at her home surrounded by her family. Betty was born March 1, 1925 to the late Allen and Mable (Cryan) Scott of Grand Rapids. She loved to bake, garden and sew.

Betty was a very active member of VFW Auxiliary Post 4461 in Lake Odessa and St. Edwards Catholic Church. She will be dearly missed by: children; Richard (Elaine) of Conroe, TX, Jackie (Kathryn) of Otsego, MI, Kathy (Allan) of Tacoma, WA, Carol (Jim) of Lansing, MI, Jerry (Yolanda) of Ionia, MI, Scott (Tracey) of Heber, Utah, 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchildren and sister Lucille. Preceding her in death are: her loving husband of 58 years Hugh Hines, brothers Willis, Leon and sister Frances.

The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Nancy Downing of Portland, MI and the numerous loving friends and caregivers who where very special to Betty. Also, to Hospice of Michigan for all their special care. Visitation will be held on Monday December 10, 2018 from 6pm 8pm with a Rosary starting at 7:30pm at the Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa, MI.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Edwards Catholic Church at 11am Tuesday, December 11, 2018. With burial taking place in Lakeside Cemetery, Lake Odessa MI. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to Hospice Michigan or the Alta Mae Scholarship Fund at the VFW.
