Elizabeth Temple Vick, 91, of Beaufort passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at her home in Beaufort surrounded by her family. Mrs. Vick and her husband enjoyed many business ventures during their married life. Their last two businesses were Vick Mobile Homes of Morehead City and Mary Elizabeth’s Dress Shop in Beaufort.

She instilled the love of family and faith in her children and their families by setting examples to live by. She was a faithful member of Ann Street United Methodist Church for most of her life. After her own marriage there, she witnessed the marriages and baptisms of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

One of her greatest joys was seeing four generations of her family sitting all on the same pew on a Sunday morning. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Newport with Pastor Taylor Mills officiating. She is survived by her daughter, Ann Vick House and husband, Walter of Beaufort; son, William Temple Vick and wife, Darla of Beaufort; niece, Cheryl Young of Beaufort; nephew, Bill Temple and wife, Xiubo Xu of Loveland, CO; nine grandchildren, Benji Horton and wife, Laura of Smyrna; Vick Horton and wife, Kylie of Straits; Ashley Ensminger and husband Landon of Beaufort; Melissa Mason and husband, Justin of Beaufort; William Young of Beaufort; Scott Young and wife Donna of Morehead City; Holly Harding and husband Joe of Colorado; Nathan Temple of Colorado; and David and Amy Temple of Malawi; thirteen great grandchildren; Isis and Trae Horton, Kristen, and Vick Horton, Karlyn and Camdyn Ensminger, Abree and Millie Young, Noah and Owen Harding, Scarlet Temple, Micah and Sophie Temple.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Mary Elizabeth Temple; her husband of 50 years, Thompson Vick, her four brothers and one sister. The family will receive friends at the home located at 1117 Front St. Beaufort and at the gravesite immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ann St. United Methodist Church 417 Ann Street Beaufort, NC 28516 or a charity of choice.
