Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Harold and Alice (Dollarton) Russ, Elizabeth was a lifelong resident of Philadelphia before moving to Doylestown in 2012.
She was formerly employed as a typist with Sears Department Store in Philadelphia for over 20 years. She enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo and spending time with her grandchildren. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph E. Costello, devoted mother of Kathleen (John) Diem, Marianne (Michael) Sawa, and the late Michael J. Costello; dear sister of the late Margaret DiPietro and Harold P. Russ, loving grandmother of Kelly (Greg) Kasitz, Jeffrey Diem, Elizabeth (Bill) Rose, Joseph Sawa, Emily Diem, Stephen Sawa and Carolyn Sawa; cherished great-grandmother of Matthew and Thomas Kasitz.
At Elizabeth’s request, cremation services were private under the direction of Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home/Central Bucks Crematory, 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901. Interment will be private in the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA.
