Elizabeth (Conte) Laughlin, 96, formerly of Rumford, passed away peacefully with her daughter Cindy at her side early Sunday morning, Dec. 9, 2018 at Steere House in Providence. She was the wife of the late James K. Laughlin.

Born Jan. 8, 1922, in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Mary (Sears) Conte. She leaves 3 children, Richard Laughlin of Wickford, Joyce McLaren of Cumberland, and Cynthia Laughlin of Narragansett; 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great granddaughter.

She was the mother of the late Barbara Allen and the sister of the late Charles Conte. Betty often would quote the lyrics of the Jimmy Buffet song, He Went to Paris, “Some of its magic, some of its tragic, but I’ve had a good life all the way”. Following Betty’s expressed wishes, there will be no services.
