Obituary of Elizabeth Earl Elizabeth Fay Carey Earl of Wurtsboro, a retired machine operator for Avon in Suffern, passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at the Schervier Pavilion in Warwick with her family by her side. She was 74. The daughter of the late Patrick Joseph Carey and Mary Alice Beams Carey, she was born on October 26, 1944 in Cornwall.

Fay was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She was a member of the Harriman Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, the Mamakating Seniors and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Wurtsboro. She enjoyed playing bingo, doing her “scratchies”, and was an avid watcher of Days of our Lives for 53 years.

She loved spending time with all her family, especially “Sunday dinners”. She looked forward to Spring every year to watch her grandsons play baseball and was very proud of her granddaughter becoming a firefighter. Survivors include her husband: Jerry; four daughters: Susan Sinistorie & her husband Joseph of Wurtsboro, Elizabeth Grosso & her husband Allan of Middletown, Karen Benard & her husband Martin of Greenwood Lake, and Cindy Madden of Montague, NJ; a son: Jerry Earl (Galia Curry) of Chester; her siblings: Michael Carey, Barbara Baker, Virginia Rich, William Carey, Judy Charleston, Paul Carey, Joseph Carey, Joan MacCleay and Martha Singer; six grandchildren: Joseph, Shawn, Steven, Allan, Elisa and Shayne; one great grandchild: Amilia; and several nieces and nephews, and of course her granddogs.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister: Gail Lanner. Family & friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, February 13 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 14 at 11:00am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 180 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro with Fr.

Peter Madori officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’ Cemetery in Wurtsboro. Memorial contributions can be made to the Kidney Cancer Association www.
