Obituary for Ella Mae Bennett Print Mrs. Ella Mae Bennett January 9, 1930 – February 14, 2019 Mrs. Ella Mae Bennett, age 89, of Griffin, passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Brightmoor Hospice in Griffin. Mrs. Bennett was born on January 9, 1930, in Griffin, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Joe Bennett; her parents, Tommie and Ollie Williams; and 3 brothers, Floyd, Cliff and Homer Williams, all of Griffin.
Known to all as Nannie, she loved to cook, read and watch soap operas. She especially enjoyed baking for the Emergency Room staff and her family. Survivors include her children, Joel (Teresa) Bennett and Judi (Rex Beaver) Bennett; grandchildren, Ken (Sandy) Bell, Tommy Bell, Chad (Amanda) Bennett, and Clay (Katie) Bennett; 9 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Kathy Williams Smith who provided much laughter and joy.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ella Mae Bennett will be held Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at 2:00 p.m., in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home. Pastor Chad Bennett, Ken Bell, and Jimmy Smith will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
