Obituary for Ellen Akers Ellen Joyce Wilson Akers, age 85, of Simpsonville, and widow of Gordon Randolph Akers, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2018, at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born in Mullens, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Mary Wilson. Mrs. Akers was a retired receptionist and later enjoyed working with Wal-Mart.

She was of the Christian faith. Surviving are her two children, Steven Randolph Akers and wife Linda of Simpsonville and Debra Lynn Costlow and husband Brian of Wilmington, NC; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by three brothers and four sisters.

A private memorial service will be held at The Kennedy Mortuary Chapel. Entombment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Beckley, WV at a later date. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Ellen Akers please visit our Sympathy Store.
