Ellen “Becky” Salinas October 29, 1950 – May 25, 2019 Ellen “Becky” R. Salinas, age 68, passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at the OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford. She was born on October 29, 1950 in Rochelle, IL the daughter of William and Eloise (Kruse) Bearrows. She married Carlos T. Salinas, he preceded her on December 4, 2008.

Ellen worked at Avery Dennison for over 20 years, then most recently, really enjoyed working with all the kids at the Rochelle Middle School in the cafeteria. She loved spending her time with her family and was affectionately known as “Mema” by her grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Carlos T Salinas; daughter, Dollynn Bearrows; mother, Eloise Bearrows; father, G.W. Bearrows; sister, Pat Bearrows; brother, W.D. Bearrows; grandmother, Louis Kruse; nieces: Diana & Deborah Bearrows; and aunt, Ethel Bearrows.

Survived by her 2 daughters: Jacqueline (Jimmy) Rhodes of Rochelle, and Caryn (Pedro Jr.) Salinas-Anaya of Rochelle; 5 grandchildren: Pedro III (Angelica) Anaya, Salina (Zack Corson) Anaya, Siara Rhodes, Taujah Rhodes, Jimmy Jay Carlos Rhodes; 5 great grandchildren: Ethan Charles Corson, Riley James Murray, Noah Hamilton, Grayson Scarbrough, and Jonah Scarbrough; siblings: Paul (Barb) Bearrows, Brian (Patty) Bearrows, Karen Bearrows, Richard (Marla) Bearrows, Don Bearrows, and Georgia Garrison ; sister-in-law, Joyce Bearrows, and best friends since childhood: Vonda Lopez and Sandra Carpenter. Cremation rites with no services are being accorded per Becky’s wishes. Unger Horner Funeral Home and Cremation Care is assisting the family with their arrangements.
