Ellen Blanciak Porter, 60, of North Vandergrift, died peacefully in her home, Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018. She was born Nov.

25, 1958, in Natrona Heights, the daughter of the late Stephen Richard and Julia Ann Minarcin Blanciak. She was a member of the St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church, in Vandergrift, where she had been involved with the St. Gertrude Reunion Committee and the Wounded Warrior Project. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, reading, spending time with her grandchildren and sending packages to our troops.

Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Daniel Michael Porter Sr., of North Vandergrift; a daughter, Jenna (Shawn) Rowe, of Washington Township; four sons, Daniel Michael Porter Jr., of North Vandergrift, John (Kristina) Porter, of Lower Burrell, Jacob (Kristen) Porter, of Vandergrift, and SSgt. Stephen (Kimberly) Porter, of Jacksonville, N.C.; six grandchildren, Madison, Reagan, Lincoln, Kennedy, Liv and Lottie; a brother, Mark (Carla Chruscik) Blanciak, of East Vandergrift; four sisters, Christine (Raymond) Bartha, of Apollo, Anne (Steven) Kanas, of Allegheny Township, Mary (Michael) Spagnolo, of Lower Burrell, Jane (Mark Krahe), Hirsch, of Sewickley, and her Godchild, Sara (Nick) Kanas Milisits. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Constance Blanciak and Victoria Filo.

Family and friends will be received from noon to 3 and 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the DUNMIRE-KERR AND ROWE FUNERAL HOME INC. , 244 Franklin Ave. , Vandergrift.

Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in the St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church, with Father James Loew as celebrant. Interment will be in the Riverview Cemetery, Apollo. To leave an online condolence, visit us at www.
