Her final days were spent surrounded by her three children and remembered by many friends she had touched throughout her long and memorable life. She was born December 12, 1922 in Denver, Colorado to Carl and Hazel Settlemire and was predeceased by her husband Lt.

Col. Dominic A. Bartol. Her entire life was focused on her family as a loving mother who always had time and interest in the development of her children.

She led a very active life and always radiated a positive ear-to-ear smile that had immediate influence on many lives and will always be remembered. She had many interests, but especially loved to knit, crochet, and sew. A countless number of creations bless the homes of her family and friends.

She was a bird watcher and had an interest in all things related to nature. She traveled extensively throughout the USA and internationally with family members to enjoy all nature’s beauty, sounds and events. Ellen is survived by her three children, Sandra B. Hennessey of Fairfax, Virginia, Dominic A. III of Clermont, Florida and Jon D. of Frederic Michigan, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

In accordance with her wishes, memorial services will be private. In lieu of flowers please consider donations to AdventHealth, Florida Hospital for Children in Orlando, Florida.
