Elva’s Obituary Elva Mae Barnes, age 81, of Farmington Hills, passed away March 5, 2019. Elva was born January 16, 1938, in Farmington Hills, Michigan; the daughter of Gerald and Rev. Mary (née Mohr) Williams.

Surviving Elva is her cherished husband of 64 years, William; children, Diane (Edward) Blalock, Brenda (Gene) Frey and Lisa (Tony) Barnes; grandchildren, Jennifer (Matt) Beeker, Michael (Sarah) Blalock, Michelle Blalock, Teresa (Jesse) Frey, Kimberly (Randy) Valicento and Laura Frey; great grandchildren Kristen (Ron) Blalock, Jacob (Tayler) Presson, Jason Presson, Patrick Blalock, Scarlett Blalock, Katherine Blalock, Ben Collinsworth, Jesse, Adriana and Lillian; great great grandchildren Gavin Blalock, Liam Blalock and Jordyn Blalock; sister-in-law, Donna Williams. Sadly, Elva is preceded in death by her brothers, Gerald “Bud” (Dorothy) Williams and Jack Williams; and half-sisters, Dorothy Watson and Geraldine Dundas. Elva’s family will receive guests at the funeral home on Friday, March 8, from 11 to 1 pm, followed by a service at 1 pm.

Elva will be laid to rest at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens in Novi, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Elva’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Please continue to keep the Barnes family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
