Elwood’s Obituary Elwood Victor Isabelle was born February 13, 1927 in Pass Christian, Mississippi to the late Cecilia B. and Benjamin Isabelle. He died December 15, 2018 in Biloxi, Mississippi. He was a faithful member of Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church.

After retiring from the United States Air Force as a Master Sergeant, he was employed with Naval Construction Battalion Center, Gulport, MS as a Civil Service Worker . “Poppie”, as he was affectionately known by family and friends enjoyed fishing and shrimping, his gift of sharing was shown frequently as he always shared his catch with those who wanted or needed them. He also enjoyed tinkering with and repairing old bicycles and sharing them with those in his community.

Poppie had a loving and giving spirit, when someone needed help, he was always there. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Benjamin Isabelle, Albert Isabelle, Lawrence Isabelle, Joseph Isabelle; four sisters, Eliska Isabelle, Eliska Dedeaux, Ruth Altimus, Cecile Dedeaux and great grandsons, Ahmad Saucier, Eric Bradley, Jr. Elwood leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife of 70 years, Doris “Dot” Ranceful Isabelle; five children, Benjamin Gary (SunAi) Isabelle, D’Iberville, MS, Elwood Victor (Pamela) Isabelle, Pass Christian, MS, Dale Wilson (Vyvette) Isabelle, Hoover, AL, Karen Isabelle (Donald) Saucier, Donna Renee Polk both of Pass Christian; three siblings, Anna Acklin, Fairborn, OH, Ernestine (Lee) Bobo, Fort Walton Beach, FL, Donald Gene Isabelle, Pass Christian, MS); 12 grandchildren, Lisa Isabelle, Diane Isabelle both of Las Vegas, NV, Christine Isabelle, D’Iberville, MS, Rheanne (Sidney) Brown, Gulfport, MS, Keisha (Jamie) Fredericks, Pass Christian, MS, Brandon (Cecile) Saucier, Sumter, SC, Jamika Polk, Bradley Polk both of Pass Christian, Kyler Isabelle, Robin Isabelle, Christian Isabelle, D’Iberville, MS, Cody Isabelle all of Hoover, AL; 10 great-grandchildren, Delisa Dedeaux, Seanelle Millet, Dustin Isabelle-Young, Aniyah Isabelle-Young, Sidney Brown, Jr., Jamie Fredericks, Jr., Jordan Fredericks, Brandon Saucier, Jr., Cecilia Saucier, Gabriel Polk; one great-great grandchild, Malai Dedeaux.
