Elza Leroy Winter, 94, of Carmi, passed away at 9:31 p.m., Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville. He was born in Carmi, IL on November 6, 1924 the son of Reuban and Mary Ann (Sheridan) Winter. Elza married Dorris Barbre in January 1941 and she preceded him in death on January 2, 2005.

He was a grain and livestock farmer. Elza enjoyed playing music, coon hunting, showing horses and was a regular at McDonalds. Elza is survived by two sons, Jerry (Mary) Winter, of Carmi and Jamie (Jodi Meyer) Winter, of Princeton, IN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Reuban and Mary Ann Winter. Funeral services for Elza Leroy Winter, 94, of Carmi, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Burial will be in North Maple Ridge Cemetery in Carmi.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 10, 2019 at Campbell Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made in Elza’s memory to Pets at Risk or Donor’s Favorite Charity and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home.
