Obituary for Emma Belle Statham Jarvis Emma Belle Statham Jarvis, passed away September 10, 2018 at St Francis Hospital, Memphis. Emma was born December 28, 1926, in Paragould, Arkansas, to Grace Kate and Ernest Statham. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Donald Jarvis, daughter, Janet Bradick, sisters, Ova Duncan and Joy Statham and son-in-law, Ed Garavelli.

She is survived by two daughters Jerri Garavelli and Debbie Johnson (Bobby), sister Bette Fisher (Larry) of Elephant Butte, New Mexico, granddaughter Shannon Bradick Cain (Mike) of Oxford, Ms, great-grandchildren, Cameron Cain, Elizabeth Kate Cain, Emma Grace Cain, and Halle Cain. Affectionately known as “Grammie” to her granddaughter and great-grandchildren, Emma was devoted to her family and friends. She moved to Wynne, Arkansas as a child, then after marriage made Memphis her home.

She was a long-time active member of Colonial Baptist Church. Emma taught preschool for 26 years, then worked at Elvis Presley Enterprise’s Graceland, for 12 years. Emma was an avid sports fan, especially cheering for the University of Memphis basketball team with her dear friends Ruth Lollar and Lottie Ruth Hogue (deceased), reading, playing games, camping, fishing, and spending time with her family.

This past year she enjoyed the activities and companionship of the Highland Terrace Apartment community. Visitation will be Thursday, September 13, at 3 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 4 p.m. at Colonial Baptist Church, 1503 Colonial Road, Memphis, TN, 38117. A private family interment will follow in Wynne, Arkansas, at a later date.
