Obituary of Emma Henschel Emma Jane Henschel, 95, Frederick. PA Emma Jane Henschel, 95 went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, January 6, 2019 in the Frederick Mennonite Community. She was born March 11, 1923 in Oaks to the late William Ervin and the late Emma (Keplinger) Groff, and lived most of her life in Arcola, PA.

Emma Jane worked as a Technician for General Electric until retirement. She also served our country in WWII as a Physical Therapist. Emma Jane was a lifelong member of Green Tree Church of the Brethren where she served as a deacon for many years, had many Bible Studies in her home and enjoyed teaching God’s word in various Sunday Schools and Vacation Bible Schools.

She was proud of the opportunities she had to travel and volunteer in various capacities for the Brethren Volunteer Service, Helping Hands, serving in Kentucky. Emma Jane leaves behind her children: John Henschel (Charlotte) of Boyertown, Ervin Henschel (Trudy) of Bigler and son-in-law Bob Myers of Harleysville, her sister: Alice Smith, and three brothers: Harry Groff, George Groff and Donald Groff. She is preceded in death by her brothers William E. Groff and Richard Groff, and her daughter, Alice Myers, wife of Bob.

Emma enjoyed her nine grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren. Emma enjoyed sharing stories of her life experiences and her appreciation and knowledge of nature which she truly saw as a blessing from the one who created them. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:45 AM Monday, at Green Tree Church of the Brethren, 1078 Egypt Road, Oaks, PA.

A memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM. Memorial donations may be made in her honor to Green Tree Church of the Brethren Online tributes,condolences and memorials can be made in her honor at www. sgsfuneralhome.com.
