Obituary for Eric Gillis William Eric Gillis, 72, of 15 Landons Trail, Mars Hill, passed away Monday, March 4, 2019. He was the son of the late Allen Stanley and Clara Shope Gillis. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son, Timothy Gillis.
He is survived by his wife, Lora Hunter Gillis; daughters, Erica Pope (Jered) and Tiffany Gillis; sisters Alison Pressley (Charlie) and Kathy Johnston (Sammy); brothers, Al Gillis (Alice) and Phil Gillis (Shirley); grandchildren, Addie and Walker Pope and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2:00pm Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverends Keith Watkins, Will Hyatt and Casey Fender will officiate.
The burial will follow in the Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00pm Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to; St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
