OBITUARY Erika Terri Peletis August 27, 2000 – September 26, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Beloved daughter, Erika Terri Peletis, age 18, went back to the Lord on September 26th, in Tustin, California. Born in Tokyo, Japan, Erika’s life shined brightly and touched many people, throughout the world. From Good Shepard Preschool in Tustin, International Sacred Heart of Tokyo, American School in Japan, Singapore American School, Carlton Washburn Middle School in Chicago, and finally Fairmont Preparatory Academy in Anaheim, California.

Erika always landed on her feet and made wonderful friends and contributed to her schools. She was a scholar, but more importantly, Erika was a soul full of empathy for her fellow human. Erika was that person who knew what it was like to change schools, always reaching out to those new students.

She cherished her group of friends in high school. She had a loving boyfriend, Scott who was her soulmate. These young spirits supported each other to heights of academic achievement and fellowship.

Erika was a member of the Advanced Science and Engineering Program at her high school. She was President of the National Honor Society for her school chapter. She was devoted to her Academic Decathlon Team as a member and lecturer.

Erika, a member of the Cross-country team, loved running. Erika was a giver of her time and loved her people in her community. She was a volunteer throughout high school at Sunrise Assisted Living caring for Alzheimer patients.

Every Sunday, Erika volunteered at Fountain Valley Hospital to support patients in a variety of roles. Her most profound activity was as a Schools-on-Wheels tutor for homeless children. Erika learned humility and respect for children, that could only come from immersing herself with those most in need.

Erika, is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Terpsithea and Nicholas Peletis of Littleton, Colorado. She is survived by her parents, Toshiko and George Peletis of Tustin, California. Her aunt and uncle Yuko and Yoshiaki Abe of Oita, Japan.

Her aunt Thalia Peletis of Littleton, CO. Her grandparents Michiko and Naoki Abe and her extended family in Oita, Japan.
