Mr. Ernest H. Lear, Jr., (also known as “Red” and “Junior”) age 77, entered into rest on Friday, October 19, 2018. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at “The Old Home Place” 3452 Hwy. 265, Ruby, SC 29741 on Saturday, November 3, 2018 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM Mr. Lear was born March 29, 1941 in Ruby, SC a son of the late Ernest and May Bell Jordan Lear.

He was a retired employee of Celanese of Rock Hill with over 23 years of service. Mr. Lear was a free-spirited man and lived his life to it’s fullest. He loved his children and grandchildren and family.

He also enjoyed fishing and tinkering with things. In addition to his parents, Mr. Lear was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Melton Lear; brothers, Rev. Harold, Boyd R., Carroll, and William Lear.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Wright of the home; sons, Brian D. Lear of Rock Hill, SC, and Keith E. Lear of Clover, SC; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Edward Lear of McConnells, SC, Dewey T. Lear of Cheraw, SC; 2 sisters, Carol Hancock of Ruby, SC, and Margaret Morris of Cheraw, SC.
