OBITUARY Ernest Ray Fitts March 17, 1951 – January 20, 2019 LEXINGTON – Ernest Ray Fitts, 67, of Lexington, passed away Sunday, January 20, 2019. He was born March 17, 1951 in Charleston, SC, to George H. Fitts and Peggy Fisher Fitts. He worked for Lane Construction and was a member of Airport Baptist Church.

Ernest was also a volunteer fireman at Edmond Fire Department in the1980’s. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Leslie B. Fitts; brothers, Herbert Fitts, Harry Collins, Donald Fitts and Esten “Bubba” Fitts; sisters, Glenda Hinson, Brenda Fitts, Celia Whitehead, Delia Bowen, Pam Golightly and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Angela Darlene Fitts; son, Ray Ernest Fitts, Jr. and “mother #2”, Annie Fitts.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Airport Baptist Church with interment in Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel. Memorials may be made to Airport Baptist Church, 1269 Boston Avenue, West Columbia, SC 29170.
