Ernest Anthony Finocchio II (Tony) Tony was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on November 6, 1950 to Ernest and Mildred Finocchio. He passed away peacefully, Monday, November 12th after a long battle with metastatic prostate cancer. Tony was an Army veteran, who continued his service to his country for the next 30 years of his life through his work at the VA, where he helped other vets with addiction and mental health issues.

His life was devoted to the service of others and he took great pride in his work. He was a master scuba instructor, who enjoyed teaching vets with physical disabilities how to scuba dive. As Tony said, “When they’re in the water, they aren’t disabled”.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a son. He is survived by: his ex-wife, Luisa Finocchio; his sons, Ernest (Ernie) Finocchio III (Michelle), James Finocchio, and Robert Finocchio; his two brothers, Joey and Rocky Finocchio; and his two granddaughters, Sawyer and Charlotte. His family wishes to thank Community Nursing Services’ hospice nurses (Susan and Michelle) for their kindness and care during the last week of his life.

A private family service will be held Saturday, November 17th at City View Memoriam.
