ERNESTINA LOPEZ ESCARCEGA April 16, 1918 – January 02, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Sympathy Card Our Mother, Magrande, who was the heart of our family was taken to Heaven on January 2, 2019 by our Lord Jesus Christ and three very special little angels, Mikey and Mia Castañon and Manuelito Escarcega. Waiting for her was the Love of her life Jesus “Chuy” Escarcega, her husband of 66 years. Our hearts are broken but the Lord our God was waiting for her with open arms.

Ernestina was born in Douglas. She celebrated her 100th birthday in April with all her loving family. She was the “Queen” of the family for she loved her family very much.

She was dedicated to her family which was very important to her. She was always there to guide and help them. Ernestina had many talents.

She loved dancing, gardening and was very skilled in different crafts. She was a seamstress who created some fabulous dresses and hats for her granddaughters. She would make decorations for the different holidays for each family and friends.

She loved to watch her novelas. Magrande, you are our inspiration for life. You lived your life to the fullest.

All your family will cherish and treasure all our beautiful memories of you. Ernestina was preceded in death by her father Manuel Lopez, mother Amada Lopez, sisters Francisca Lopez, Herminia Marrufo and Maria Romero, brothers Locadio Lopez and Roberto Lopez. Ernestina is survived by her daughters Irma (Carlos) Robles of Tucson, Irene Cornejo and grandson of Douglas, Delia Yrrizarry and her sons Jesus (Irene) Escarcega, Oscar Escarcega and Ernie Escarcega all of Tucson along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

She also leaves 25 beautiful grandchildren, 57 loving great grandchildren and 25 caring great-great grandchildren. One blessed family all because of her. A celebration of her life will be held at Immaculate Conception on Saturday, January 12, 2019 with a Holy Rosary at 11:30 am followed by a Mass of the Resurrection at 12:00 pm.

Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons Robert Robles, Jesus Escarcega, Jr., Eddie Cornejo, Jesus Yrrizarry, Jr., Oscar Escarcega, Jr., Ernie Escarcega, Jr. Carlos Robles, Jr. and David Robles. Honorary pallbearers will be her sons and grandsons.
