OBITUARY Ernestine McClure April 20, 1941 – January 5, 2019 Ernestine McClure, 77 went home to be with The Lord on January 5, 2019 after a long battle with Pulmonary Cystic Fibrosis. Ernestine was a devoted Christian who cherished her family and friends. Her firm belief in Jesus carried her through all adversity.

Ernestine was born to Mary C. Tibbetts-Goodman in Dallas on April 20, 1941. Ernestine loved being a homemaker and working out of her home providing alterations, which grew into her own small business, with shops in the Highland Park area. Her talents were highly sought after among local and church communities, including alterations for the cast of the television show, Dallas.

Ernestine put her stamp on the city of Carrollton, when she created the city flag resulting in an appearance on The Bobbie Wygant Show. Ernestine’s family cherished the love and commitment she showed to all. Ernestine also shared her love in church choirs and the Silver Chords southern gospel group.

She took every opportunity to remind her family of the many blessings God showered upon us, and to witness to others about the love of Jesus. Ernestine was preceded in death by her brother, Earl Wayne Tibbetts and mother, Mary C. Tibbetts-Goodman. She leaves to cherish her memory, husband, Michael K. McClure; daughters, Linda K. Silvey and husband, R.J. Silvey of San Antonio, Texas and Laurie J. Gann and husband, David F. Gann of The Colony, Texas, along with seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2019 from 6-8pm in the Ted Dickey West Funeral Home, Dallas. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 1:00pm in the funeral home. Burial to follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
