Esther Cruz Carrasco, 77, of Gonzales, passed away at home, surrounded by family, Thursday, July 5, 2018. Esther was born November 22, 1940 in Gonzales and had been a life time resident of Monterey County. She was employed for many years for the Gonzales High School, working in the cafeteria.

She loved cross word puzzles, knitting, family, and listening to Mexican music. Esther was a hardworking mother, grandmother and always placed the needs of others’ before herself. She would do… Read More » anything for her children, grandchildren, and her beloved great grandchildren.

She is survived by her 7 children; Richard (Stella) Contreras of Santa Maria, their children, Veronica, Valerie, Sam, Ester (Ruben Sanchez) Carrasco of Gonzales, and their children, Henry, Lorraine, Mary (James) Gutierrez of Gonzales, their children, James Jr, Robert, Gloria Samano of Gonzales, her children, Christina, Danny, Paul, Nellie Samano of Gonzales, her children, Justin, Vincent, Jennifer, Tina Morales of Soledad, her children, Celeste, Michael, Roger Morales of Salinas, his children, John, Roger, Rudy, Sabrina, Anthony; numerous great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; sister, Alice Carrasco of Salinas. She was preceded in death by her parents, and 14 siblings. Visitation will be held Monday, July 9, 2018 from 4 to 7 pm at Woodyard Funeral Home, Soledad, followed with evening service at 7 pm at the funeral home.

Burial will take place at a later date.
