Esther L. Anderson, age 69, of Cheboygan passed away Friday, March 8, 2019 at Hiland Cottage in Petoskey. She was born April 10, 1949 in Bad Axe, MI, the daughter of Maxwell and Helen (MacDonald) Simmons. On July 26, 1969 in Cheboygan, Esther married Dan Anderson who survives.

Esther had owned and operated Rivertown Fudge and had also worked at several area stores including B&C and Hamady Foods. She enjoyed cake decorating, crafting, floral arranging, camping and family gatherings. Besides her husband Dan, Esther is survived by her two children, Darren (Kasie) Anderson and Vicky Anderson, both of Levering, her grandson, Devon (Krista Riley) Anderson of Moran, MI, three sisters, Virginia Simmons of Mt.

Pleasant, Catherine Hefferon of Cheboygan and Mary Ellen Miller of Bad Axe, two brothers, Bill (Pam) Simmons of Marquette and George (Alice) Simmons of Gaylord and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Allen and Jim Simmons. The funeral service will take place at the Wesleyan Community Church on Thursday, March 14 at 1:00 PM with the family greeting friends beginning at noon.

Pastor Matt Reisinger will officiate. Memorial contributions may be directed to the church or the Cheboygan County Humane Society. Arrangements are being handled by the Nordman-Christian Funeral Home.
