Funeral services to celebrate the life of Eufemia Acosta, age 73 of Lamesa, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2019 at Gonzales Funeral Chapel with Pastor Robert Cortez officiating. Interment will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home of Lamesa, Texas.

Viewing will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2019 and Sunday, May 19, 2019 at Gonzales Funeral Home. Eufemia passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 in Lubbock, Texas. She was born on March 19, 1946 in Lamesa.

Eufemia was married to Reynaldo Acosta, he preceded her in death in the year 1986. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reynaldo Acosta; her parents, Guadalupe Valle, Sr. and Eulalia Valle; her brother, Guadalupe Valle, Jr.; her sisters, Rosa Lopez, Susie Salinas, Isabel Morales, Molly Valle; her son-in-law, Jesse Padilla, Sr. Eufemia was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her favorite pass-times were spending time with her pet dogs, shopping for her home, dancing and enjoy all sorts of exotic house plants.

Eufemia was most passionate about investing her time with her family. She always had a wonderful smile and a joyful laugh that would light up the room. Eufemia was big hearted, full of love, caring and compasionate.

A perfect example from Exodus 20:12, “Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you”. Eufemia is survived by her loving family, her daughters, Diana Rodriguez and husband, Freddy Rodriguez, and Sylvia Padillla, all of Lamesa,Texas; her sisters, Geneva Lopez, Lupe Diaz, Josie Cantu, Olga Valle, and Janie Salazar; 6 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; numerous relatives and friends.
