OBITUARY Eugene A. “Gene” Heuermann August 26, 1934 – September 22, 2018 PEORIA- Eugene A. “Gene” Heuermann, 84, of Peoria, Illinois, passed away Saturday, September 22, 2018 at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Peoria surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 26, 1934 in Peoria, Illinois to Schweer and Anna (Delicath) Heuermann. He married Donna Tanner on July 23, 1955 in Peoria, Illinois.

She survives. Also surviving are three children, Gary (Gloria) Heuermann of East Peoria, Stephen (Carla) Heuermann and Wendy (Rick) Bucklin both of Peoria; four grandchildren, Samantha, Thomas (Heather), Becky and Melissa, and one great grandson, Arthur; one sister, Carol Luecht of Peoria. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Gene first worked at Rohn Manufacturing and for 30 years was a wire drawer at Keystone Steel and Wire Company. He also owned and operated the Bellevue Hardware Store from 1979 until 2016 where he enjoyed working and socializing. He was an Army veteran.

Gene loved his family and enjoyed camping in his spare time. He was the former fire chief and member of the Limestone Township Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of the Keystone Steel Workers Alliance Union. Private family inurnment will be at a later date.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society. Davison Fulton Bartonville Chapel is handling arrangements.
