OBITUARY Eugene Aucoin Sr. July 5, 1917 – December 27, 2018 Eugene Aucoin Sr., born July 5, 1917, passed away at the age of 101 on December 27, 2018. Eugene is now at peace with his Lord Jesus and has joined his loving wife of 69 years, Enola Alice Berret Aucoin, who passed away August 22, 2007. Eugene was born in Morgan City, Louisiana, to John Webster Aucoin and his wife Eveline LaCoste Aucoin, and was raised in the Bayou Chene area.

He married Enola, moved to and resided in Eunice, Louisiana, from 1946-1978, and then moved to Bayou Chicot, Louisiana, where he remained. Eugene is survived by his three sons, Lloyd, Kenneth and Eugene Jr. and by a loving extended family of numerous grand, great-grand and great-great-grandchildren. Visitation in his honor will be held at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City, Louisiana, on Friday, December 28 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, December 29, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. with service at Hargrave’s beginning at 11 a.m. Eugene will then be transported to Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte, Louisiana, for continued visitation on Monday, December 31, from 8 a.m. to noon.

Eugene will be laid to rest beside his wife Enola in the Ferguson Cemetery in Chicot, Louisiana. Ardoin’s Funeral Home, 709 West Main St., Ville Platte, LA 70586, (337) 363-2181, is in charge of arrangements.
