Eugene Bartle, age 80, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana. He was born November 11, 1938 in Breeze, Illinois, the son of Hershel Dale and Amelia Katherine (Miabaum) Bartle. He married Betty Lester on February 12, 1960 and she survives.

Eugene worked for Texaco Refinery for 18 years, Marathon Oil Company for four years, and Golden Rule for 11 years. He was a member of the Heritage Baptist Church in Vincennes, Indiana. He served his country in the United States Army from 1957 until 1960.

He then served for 12 years with the National Guard Unit 631 in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Preceding him in death were his parents and one great-granddaughter, Eden Gough. Survivors include his wife, Betty; one son, Lloyd Dale Bartle of Lawrenceville, Illinois; two daughters, Kimberly Kaye Hatton and husband, Douglas of Vincennes, Indiana and LaDonna Jean Cardinal and husband, Douglas of Bruceville, Indiana; one sister, Virginia Worstell and husband, Jim of Bridgeport, Illinois; three grandchildren, Heather Gough and husband, Neal of O’Fallon, Illinois, Dustin Hatton and Cora Cochran of Vincennes, Indiana, and Nathan Hatton of Vincennes, Indiana; three great-grandchildren, Camden Gough, Grace Gough, and Dane Hatton; and several nieces and nephews.
