Steve Miller and Bro. Wade Merrell officiating.

Burial will follow at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Bentley, LA. The family will receive friends after 4 pm on Friday, January 25th at Galbraith Church of God. Eugene, 85 years of age and a resident of Lena, LA, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at his residence.

He was born on March 3, 1933, in Rock Hill, LA to Johnny and Alice Honeycutt Brown. He proudly and honorably served in the United State Airforce. A mechanic by trade, he mostly worked on heavy equipment, but there wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix.

A man of God, he enjoyed attending church with his wife and was devoted to daily prayer for so many people in his community. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him but we take comfort in knowing we will be reunited with him in Heaven one day. He is survived by his wife, Lenora Owen Brown; stepchildren, Wade Merrell, Billy Merrell, Kelton Merrell, and Felton Merrell; and brothers, John Brown, Jr., and Gerald Allen Brown; sisters, Mary Locke, Barbara Tison, Elaine Pintuff, Mildred Dashwood, Alice Malone, Anita Foster, and Linda Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a twin brother, Lisha Arnold Brown; a sister, Carolyn Marshall; step-son, Ivan Owen Merrell, Jr.; and a step-granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Merrell.
