Eugene’s Obituary Elton-A Mass of Christian Burial for Eugene Kinkelaar, 78, will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at St. Paul Catholic Church. Rev. Jose Vattakunnel will officiate.

Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes. The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Elton from 5-10 p.m. with the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2019. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Eugene was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother. He enjoyed attending church and was a man of strong faith. Eugene was a devoted husband to his wife, Ruby, for 39 years and enjoyed taking her on dates and going dancing.

He enjoyed fixing things, raising chickens, gardening, taking vacations, camping, and riding his bike. Eugene especially enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He served our country in the United States Navy for six years.

Eugene will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Those left to cherish Eugene’s memory include his wife, Ruby Kinkelaar of Elton; three sons, Casey Kinkelaar and wife, Belinda, of Kinder, Blaise Kinkelaar of Elton, and Benjamin Kinkelaar of Kinder; five daughters, Jean Kinkelaar of Metairie, Marianne Pate and husband, Jeremiah, of Warren, TX, Kamie Menard and husband, Frank, of Orange, TX, Nicholette Huval and husband, Caleb, of Baton Rouge, and Naomi Dufrene and husband, Justin, of Wakefield, RI; one brother, Michael Kinkelaar of Panesville, OH; two sisters, Madeline Durbin and husband, Chuck, of Denver, CO and Martha Powell of St. Louis, MO; eleven grandchildren; two great grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way. Eugene is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Mary Kinkelaar; one daughter, Colletta Kinkelaar; one brother, Frank Kinkelaar; and one grandchild.
