Obituary for Eugene W. Barrett Print Eugene W. Barrett, 64, of Belleville, IL, born February 9, 1954 in New York, NY passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2019. Throughout his life, Eugene enjoyed bowling, golf and camping with his family. He was a bowling coach at Belleville East High School from 2001 until 2009.

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene W. and Josephine (nee Maida) Barrett and his brother, Gary Barrett. Eugene is survived by his wife, Karen Barrett nee Schmitz; daughters, Jenn (Dan) Mersinger of O’Fallon, IL and Kimberly Barrett of Belleville, IL; siblings, Artie (Denise) Barrett of Brookfield, MA and Donna Marie (Jeffrey) Rose of Selden, NY; grandchildren, David, Makayla, Ashlyn, and Easton; nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children at www.

Visitation will be held Sunday, February 3, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Schildknecht Funeral Home, 301 South Lincoln Avenue, O’Fallon, IL 62269. Funeral service will be held Monday, February 4, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Msgr. James Margason officiating.
