Eva Catherine Conklin, 83, went to be with the Lord Monday September 24, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was born in Akron, Ohio on December 4, 1934 to John and Mary Horvath. Eva worked at AA Blueprint in Akron, and Norton City hall.

Eva was an active volunteer over the years giving time to her church, Barberton Hospital, Crescent Club, and Girl Scouts. She was a faithful member of Johnson United Methodist church for nearly 60 years. She loved life and took advantage of every day she had been gifted with.

Eva was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Harold “Sonny” Conklin. She is survived by sons, John (Connie), Michael (Renee); daughter, Elaine (Todd) Hicks; grandchildren, Rebecca (Derek) Callaway, Greg, Savannah, Jenna, Spenser, Mason and Kaitlyn; and one sister. Family and friends may call at Johnson United Methodist Church 3409 Johnson Rd, Norton, Ohio for calling hours from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 with a memorial service immediately following.

Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery on Wednesday, October 3, 2018. For those wishing to attend, the procession to Western Reserve Cemetery will leave the church parking lot at 9:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Johnson United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice in memory of Eva. The family would like to thank the ICU staff at Summa Barberton Hospital and the Summa Cooper Cancer Center for their exceptional care during this difficult time.
