Eva, a long time resident of the Central Texas area, was born on November 10, 1932 in Glogau, Germany to the late Paul and Magdalena Schwengber. From her youth, Eva faced the challenge of escaping the destruction that came from a war-torn Germany during WWII.

Many years later she would work for the US Army where she met her husband Clarence, married in 1965. She proudly became a US citizen after the family moved to the U.S. She gave up her work outside of the home to take on the responsibility of caring for her family and raising her two children, Ron and Rhonda.

Eva reentered the workforce again after the kids left home pursuing a career of tax accounting for nine years. She stopped work again but this time it was due to a battle with nasopharynx cancer, a battle that she successfully overcame. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Karl-Heinz Schwengber, and beloved husband, Clarence Ryckman.

Eva is survived by her cherished children, Ron Ryckman and Rhonda Nebgen; precious grandchildren, Christopher Ryckman, Chrystal Nebgen, and Cordell Nebgen; and nieces and nephews in Germany and the US, among many other family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 on Friday, February 1st, at Heritage Funeral Home, Harker Heights. Interment will follow at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.

A reception for the family and friends will be held at St Luke’s Parish Hall in Temple after the cemetery.
