Eva Rae Squires, age 73, of Muskegon, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2018 in Muskegon. She was born January 28, 1945 in Muskegon to Everett and Anna (DeVos) Sweeney. Eva lived in Muskegon until age nine when she moved to New Era.

After high school, she was employed for several years in Washington, DC and Dallas. She returned to Michigan and married Bob Squires on May 13, 1971. The Squires lived in Rothbury and Whitehall before living in Montague from 1978 to 1999 when they moved to Muskegon.

Eva was a member of Lakes Community Nazarene Church. She was employed at Lorin Industries before her retirement in 1998. Eva enjoyed knitting, needle point, sewing, and flower arranging.

She is survived by her husband, Bob; her daughter, Cindy (Mike) Schulist of Montague; her grandson, Kodi Schulist of Montague; her brother, James Sweeney of Rothbury; and sisters, Ruth Ann Spira of Muskegon and Marilyn (Bruce) Horrell of Ludington. Eva was raised with her cousin, Pat Henrickson. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 25th, 10 am at St. James Catholic Church in Montague. A Funeral Communion Service will follow the visitation at 11 am on Wednesday at St. James with Father Peter Omogo officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery near Rothbury.
