Obituary for Mrs. Evadne Lucille Steiner STEINER, EVADNE LUCILLE (nee JOHNSON) of Edina, MN and Nisswa, MN died April 28, 2018 at Minnesota Masonic Home of Bloomington after a difficult convalescence following a hip fracture. Evadne was born Jan. 31, 1930 in Alexandria, MN, graduating from Alexandria High School in 1948.

She received her teaching certificate from St. Cloud Teacher’s college in 1950. She married Frederick William Steiner on June 14, 1952 and moved to Rochester, MN, where she taught elementary school. She was active as a member and Sunday School teacher at Bethel Lutheran Church.

Evadne enjoyed boating, playing bridge, music & gardening. Evadne and Fred retired to Nisswa in 1988 until their health declined, moving to Edina, MN to be closer to family. Evadne is survived by daughters, Dr. Marie Steiner, Minneapolis, MN and Cynthia Steiner, Kasota, MN, granddaughter, Cynthia Pyles, Minneapolis, MN, and sister, Barbara Morris, Spicer, MN.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Fred Steiner, her parents, her sister, Lois Marie Johnson, and her grandson, Richard Lee Pyles. In lieu of flowers, remembrances are welcome to Central Lutheran Church, Minneapolis, MN, St Peter Chorale Society, St. Peter, MN or Wounded Warrior Project. Funeral Service for Evadne will be held at 11:30 AM Saturday, May 5 at Central Lutheran Church, 333 S. 12th St. Minneapolis, MN with visitation 1 hour prior to service.

Interment Sunset Cemetery. www.
