Evans “Curly” Compton September 23, 1930 – March 01, 2019 Share this obituary View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Evans “Curly” Compton, age 88 of Dekalb IL passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on March 1, 2019. Born on September 23, 1930 in Virginia he was the youngest of 14 children. He served in the US Army during the Korean War.

He married Nadine, the love of his life, on July 14, 1956 and they migrated westward in search of work finally settling in Streamwood IL to raise their 4 children. Working most of his adult life as a Manager with the Rolex Corporation he retired in 1995 and he with his wife Nadine spent the last 13 years in a beautiful home in DeKalb IL. He loved to fish, hunt, watch golf on the T.V. and his favorite thing was big family dinners and gatherings.

Evans “Curly” Compton, Loving Husband, Father, Papaw, Great Papaw is survived by the Love of his life Ruby Nadine Compton(nee: Chapman), Daughters Linda Reyes(Brian Deaver), Barbara Garza(Joe Garza), Diana Einhorn(Bob Kleszynski) and Son Douglas Compton(Barbara Sleigh). Grandchildren Marty Reyes, Tony Reyes(Faith), Joey Reyes(Nicole), Richie Reyes(Kelly), Erica Malone(Brian), Matthew Einhorn(Danielle), Timothy Einhorn(Irma), Ashley Compton and Lizzie Compton. Great Grandchildren Teddy and Roman Reyes, Annie and Manny Reyes, Sierra, Jackson and Ella Malone, Hailey and Teagan Einhorn.

Sister Edith Snead of Virginia and many, many family members. He was preceded in death by his parents Nealie and Alifair Compton, 12 of his 13 siblings, Son in Law Jay Reyes and Grandson Nicholas Garza. Curly was loved and respected and will be greatly missed.

“It was a rocky row to hoe and now you found your bed of roses” A Celebration Of Life service will be held on Saturday March 9, 2019 between 1:00pm and 4:00pm at Butala Funeral Home, 1405 DeKalb Ave, Sycamore IL 60178, visitation to begin at 1:00pm with the service beginning approximately at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois in Evans Compton’s name. The donations can be made directly through the Butala Funeral Home 1405 DeKalb Ave, Sycamore IL 60178.
