OBITUARY Evelyn Garcia July 24, 1953 – December 26, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Garcia, Evelyn It is with great sadness that the family of Evelyn Garcia announces that she was called home by the Lord on December 26, 2018, at the age of 65. She was born on July 24, 1953 in Austin, Texas to Maryanne (Ledesma) and Edward Villasana and was the oldest of three children. Evelyn was the family matriarch and fiercely devoted to her husband, children and grandchildren.
She loved the Lord with all her heart and instilled that love in her children; indeed, she showed that love to the world. Evelyn will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 43 years, Aurelio and their eight children; Rodrigo, Aurelio Jr. (Rachel), Amanda (Dusty), Roman (Yvonne), Cicely Garcia (Jennifer), Fabian (Erica), Santiago (Yolanda), and Nicholas. Evelyn will also be forever missed by her twenty-two (22) grandchildren, her father Edward Villasana, her brothers Edward Villasana Jr., and Roland Troy Ledesma; her half-brothers and sisters Rachel Manzanares, Roger Alfredo Villasana, Reynaldo Villasana whom live in Colorado.
Evelyn was predeceased by her daughter, Elora, mother, Maryanne Ledesma and her grandparents, Santos and Santiago Guajardo, Selva and Domingo Arredono, and Rogelio Villasana. She will be remembered as the protector and all-time advocate of her family. Her love and loyalty were an inspiration to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
A life lived in love and service is a life well lived. Evelyn lived a beautiful life; her children will never forget the love she had for G-D and sacrifices she made for them and the unconditional love she gave them. The Garcia family would like to extend their eternal gratitude to all the people who have expressed their love for Evelyn through thoughts, prayers, and kind deeds.
Her family will be forever grateful for the loving and excellent care provided to their wife, mother, and grandmother (by the nurses and doctors) over these past 5 years. We cannot say thank you enough! Viewing will be held on Friday, December 28th at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 6300 West William Cannon Drive in Austin Texas from 6pm – 8pm.
The funeral will be held in the same location on Saturday, December 29th at 10am with burial services to follow. Memorial donations in memory of Evelyn can be made to the Smithville Church of Christ or Elgin Church of Christ.
