OBITUARY Evelyn Gertrude O’Brien May 18, 1923 – November 17, 2018 Evelyn Gertrude O’Brien (née Hoffman), aged 95, died peacefully surrounded by loved ones on November 17, 2018. Beloved mother of Nancy (Bill) Freeman and Rudolph (Diane) DeAtley, and sister of John McDonough, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert O’Brien, and son Terry DeAtley, Sr. Evelyn is survived by 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends. She enjoyed hosting friends and family at her home in Hampden where she lived for 65 years.

Evelyn was known for her Memorial Day celebrations where she served her famous homemade crab soup. In her younger years she was a professional bowler, traveling to tournaments along the East Coast, and bowled with friends until she was 87. She will be greatly missed by all those who had the honor of knowing her.

Friends are invited to call at the Burgee-Henss-Sietz Funeral Home, 3631 Falls Road on Sunday, November 25,2018, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM. Catholic prayers will be celebrated in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 37th Street at Hickory Avenue on Monday November 26,2018, at 10 AM. Interment, Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.

Expressions of sympathy may be made in Evelyn’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
