Evelyn Mae’s Obituary Evelyn Mae Johnson McFarlen, age 79 went to be with the Lord on May 11, 2019. She was born September 5, 1939 at Williamsville, the oldest of 4 children born to the late Marvin and Maxine Moore. She graduated from Poplar Bluff High School in the class of 1955.

She was retired from Gates Rubber Company. Evelyn enjoyed yard sales and flea markets, liked doing word search puzzles and cheering for her beloved Cardinals baseball team. But most of all she loved spending time with her family, (children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, cousins, nieces, nephews, step-family), it didn’t matter.

Evelyn had plenty of love and kindness to spread around. Evelyn was a devout member of New Home General Baptist Church. She loved attending church services, especially when there was good singing and good food involved.

In 1956 she married Claude Jr. Johnson. They were married 41 years until Claude’s death in 1997. In 2004 she married John McFarlen.

He survives. Also surviving are four sons: Bob Johnson & Julie of Neelyville, Ron Johnson and wife Suzy of Harviell, Steve Johnson and wife Karen of Piedmont, and Mike Johnson and wife Ruby of Poplar Bluff; one sister: Linda Kirkley of Poplar Bluff; one brother: Kenneth Moore and wife Lana of Poplar Bluff; two step daughters: Debra Gittemeier and husband John of Troy, Mo and Diane Metz and husband Jesse of Qulin; ten grandchildren, ten step grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She always said she lost count.

She was preceded in death by one brother: James Moore; one grandson: Billy Johnson; one brother-in-law: Ted Kirkley and one nephew: Kevin Kirkley. Visitation will begin at 6:00 PM on Wednesday at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Fisk. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Rev.

Calvin Buhler officiating. Burial will be in the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
