Evelyn M. Davis, 86, of Montoursville, passed away, Monday, December 17, 2018, at UPMC Susquehanna Williamsport. Surviving is her husband of 54 years, Thomas E. Davis. Born December 8, 1932, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Charles J. and Lurleen (Snyder) Reis.

Evelyn was a 1950 graduate of South Williamsport High School. She retired from the cable company and was previously employed with Trimtex and Weldon’s. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and volunteered many years at St. Anthony’s Food Kitchen.

Evelyn and her husband, Tom enjoyed golfing and she made a hole in one on the 18th hole at Clinton County Country Club. Evelyn and Tom also enjoyed traveling, going on family vacations and dancing, especially the jitterbug. Most of all Evelyn’s life revolved around her family.

She was better known as “Sweetie” to her husband and “Momma Bear” to her nine children whom she took great pride in raising. Surviving in addition to her husband are seven children, Diane E. Cosgrove (Michael), of Laporte, David L. Johnson, of Carlisle, Debbie L. Johnson-Roig, of Montoursville, Vicki L. Johnson-Webber, and Sheri A. Johnson, both of Williamsport, Tina L. Johnson-Short (Jim), of Austin, Texas, and Timothy E. Davis, of Cape Coral, Fla. ; two step-children, Thomas E. Davis, Jr. (Kathryn); and Ellen Davis, both of South Williamsport; 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard Reis, of Williamsport, a sister, Barbara Haas (Joe), of Collomsville; and a sister-in-law, Joanne Reis; of Orlando, Fla.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two grandsons; Cody Davis, and John Steele; a granddaughter, Kelsey Steele; and two brothers, Charles and Donnie Reis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, December 22, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 800 W. Central Ave. , South Williamsport, with the Rev.

William Corcoran officiating. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Evelyn’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 57 N. Franklin St., Wilkes Barre, PA 18740 or at www.
