Obituary for Mr. Everett Dean Anderson Everett “Ev” D. Anderson, age 80 of coon rapids, died May 29, 2018. Born to Archie and Vernus Anderson on July 28, 1937, Ev began his career in engineering at Univac and Control Data. He left computer technology for medical technology, working on early models of insulin pumps.

He and associates formed Deltec Inc. in the mid 1980s where his team designed the first portable analgesic and chemotherapy pumps. Electronics was also his hobby – he was an amateur radio operator (ham) for over 50 years known by the call W0EDA. Ev was a mentor (Elmer) for many members of the Courage Center HandiHam System.

After his retirement from electronics, he moved to Coon Rapids where he volunteered at Allina Mercy Hospital for 18 years. Ev is survived by his sister, Mary (Clyde) Chase; nephews and niece, Donald Hoffman, Ronald (Polly) Hoffman, Tim (Heidi) Hoffman, Greg (Shelley) Peterson, and Kevin (Beth) Chase; and by friends and neighbors, Janice and Janet Robidoux. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 8th at the Washburn-McReavy, Coon Rapids Chapel, 1827 Coon Rapids Blvd with visitation at 10 a.m. A private inurnment will occur at a later date.
