A funeral service for Ewing Russell Claxton, age 83 of Clarksville, will be Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home. Bro. Brian Lindsey will officiate.

Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 13, 2019 from 4:00PM to :00 PM at the funeral home and again on Tuesday from 12:00 PM until the hour of service. There will be a Masonic service Monday evening at 6:00 PM.

Ewing passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 9, 2019 surrounded by his family. He was born on October 11, 1935 in Stewart County, TN to Willie Wesley and Della Frances Claxton. He was a member of Palmyra Masonic Lodge 747 and a veteran of the United States Air Force.

Ewing retired from Trane Co and went to work for Clarksville Auto Auction where he was known as “Maytag”. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Ann Kelly Claxton; daughter, Jacquelyn Elaine Haddock Fisher; 1 brother and 6 sisters. He is survived by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
