Obituary for Fay A. Franz Fay A. Franz, age 75 of the Town of Wescott, Shawano, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 28, 2018. Fay was born November 8, 1942 in Bonduel, a daughter of Dorothy (Pingel) VanVuren and the late Donald VanVuren. She attended school in Milwaukee, graduating from Rufus King High School in 1961.

Fay furthered her education and became a Realtor, and later worked as an Electronic Technician. On September 30, 1961 she was united in marriage to Robert L. Franz at St. Nicholaus Catholic Church in Milwaukee. They lived in Milwaukee until 1968, when they moved to their beautiful home on Lake Keesus and raised their two children, Rob and Liz.

Fay was an active board member with the Lake Association, and ran the lake harvesting. In 2000 the couple retired and moved to Shawano Lake. Fay loved to read, travel with her husband, take walks, and visit with family.

She enjoyed life! On April 28, 2016, Fay lost her beloved husband, Bob, after 59 years together. They had a beautiful, loving marriage.

Survivors include her children, Robert (Amy) Franz of Hartland, Wisconsin, and Liz Selby of Shawano; her grandchildren, Anthony (Lindsey) Franz, Karis (Levi) Bain, Shannon (fiancé Dan) Franz, and Alexandra Selby; two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Flynn Bain; her mother, Dorothy VanVuren of Beaver Dam; sisters, Betty (Nick) Pierce of Cecil, Ginny (Wayne) Abel of Kennacattaba; her brother, Terry (Marilee) VanVuren of Illinois; her brothers-in-law, Bob Kramer and Dave Zylka; her sister-in-law, Karen Franz; her special childhood friend, Karen (Zunker) Soomekh; and many relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bob; her father, Donald VanVuren; and her sister Bonnie Kramer. In keeping with Fay’s wishes, private family services will be held.
