Fay Elizabeth Turlington Sykes, age 82, of Sanford, NC, passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Cumberland County on July 31, 1936 to the late Harvey Turlington and Bessie Garner Turlington. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Sykes.

Fay is survived by her son, Michael Sykes and wife, Tanya of Nashville, Tennessee; daughter, Deborah Warpoole and husband, Don of Sanford, North Carolina; sister, Mildred Watson of Sanford, North Carolina; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake, North Carolina with Rev. Bobby Sykes and Rev.
