Obituary for Fay O. Searfoss Fay O. Searfoss age 99 of Findlay, died at the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Wednesday Oct. 24, 2018 at 6:55am. He was born on April 16, 1919 in Forest, OH to Ray O. and Ila F. (Clinger) Searfoss.
He married Florine Cramer on May 30, 1941 and she preceded him in death on July 7, 2009. Mr. Searfoss is survived by a daughter Elaine her husband Fred Saltzman of Alvada, son Darwin his wife Sarah Searfoss of Findlay, four grandchildren Jathan (Tiffany) Saltzman, Jeanine (Adam) Pugh, Jeffrey (Katie) Saltzman, Jenise (Ben) Mathias, eight great grandchildren Maria & Jack Saltzman, Zachary, Jacob & Andrew Pugh, Sydney & Luke Saltzman, Chloe Mathias. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandsons Brian Searfoss, Steven Searfoss and brother Floyd Searfoss.
Mr. Searfoss graduated from Wharton High School and received his Journeyman card for Tool and Die. He retired as a Tool and Die Maker from Garwood Industries and Dow Chemical, Findlay. Fay was a main leader in the Jr. Achievement Program at Dow Chemical for about 15 years.
He was an active member in New Life Assembly of God, Findlay, Memorial United Methodist Church, Carey and Ridge Chapel Church of the Nazarene, Carey. For hobbies he enjoyed hunting out West and spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren. He could often be found lending a helpful hand and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held Friday October 26, 2018 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at the Clark Shields Funeral Home, Forest. The funeral ceremony will take place after the visitation at 1:00pm on Friday at the funeral home with Rev. Carroll McNutt officiating.
