Felix R. Martinez Sr, 72 of Shandon went to be with his Lord on December 25th, 2018, from an unforeseen heart issue. His smile, kind nature and concern for others will be missed. In his eyes his greatest achievement was his family.

Born in Kingsburg, California to Ramon and Longina Martinez, was the oldest child. Growing up in Hayward, California, he graduated from Sunset High School in 1964. Marrying his wife Penny L Martinez in 1966, he went to work in the automotive painting field.

He worked for Peterbilt Motors, Miracle Truck Center and Fleet Colors, Inc; all the while, working with Penny to build a successful catering company. In 1993, moving to Cambria, California, together they opened a restaurant. In is retirement he enjoyed his family time, with his children and eight grandchildren, traveling all over the United States but especially to Arizona for time with cousins.

An avid football fan, he never missed Sunday’s with his Raiders; summer time was spent with backyard barbeques and working in his garden. He is survived by his wife Penny, children Christina Smith of Shandon, Felix Martinez and wife Karen of Hayward, Deborah Larsen and husband Bob of Heritage Ranch. Grandchildren Andrea LaCome, Jordann Martinez, Stephanie Smith, Rebecca Martinez-Oliver, Allen Smith, Nichols Martinez-Oliver, Felix Martinez lll, Gavin Martinez.

Sister, Rosa Rita Marquez of Hayward and many nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his parents, sister Jeannie and brother Mark. A “Celebration of Life” Will be held January 5th, 2019 at 1 p.m., Reis Family Mortuary, 991 Nipomo St., San Luis Obispo, California.
