Mrs. Flora “Flo” Miller, age 65, of Cedartown passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 after an extended illness. She was born on July 19, 1952 in Silver City, New Mexico to Robert and Angie Chacon McDonald. Flora and Bucky moved to Cedartown in 1981.

Mrs. Miller served our community for 20 years as a police officer with the City of Cedartown. Flo was hired by Chief Moss as the department’s first female police officer. Once she retired from the police department she continued her love of helping others while working for the local district attorney’s office as a witness victim advocate.

She and her husband loved to travel with the RV and attend NASCAR races, rodeo events, country music concerts and eating out together in local restaurants. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert McDonald; brother, Eddie Joe McDonald; sister, Frances McDonald. Mrs. Miller is survived by her husband, “Bucky” Miller, for whom she married September 30, 1978; daughter, Anna F. Pelletier; mother, Angie C. McDonald; brother and sister in law, Robert and Molly McDonald; sisters and brothers in law, Alice Gilbert Lopez and Norma and Dionicio Espinosa.

Several nieces & nephews also survive. The service to celebrate the life of Flora Miller will be held Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 2 PM in the chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home with Rev. Trey Stephens and Rev.

Clay Horton officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 1-2 PM at Smith & Miller Funeral Home. The family has asked that flowers please be omitted and memorial contributions can be made in her memory to either Homestead Hospice of Cartersville or Alzheimer association The Smith & Miller Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Flora “Flo” Miller.
