Florence Leviten, 81, of Colonia, NJ passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2019. Florence is survived by her husband of 61 years, Edward, sister, Sharon (Debby) Scott, daughter Randi Parente, Grandchildren, Allyson Rakes and Randy Rakes, and Great-granddaughter Delylah-Rae Rakes. She is predeceased by her parents, Rose and Max Yatrofsky and brother Seymour Yatrofsky.

Florence was born in New York, but lived most of her life in NJ. She attended college at the New Jersey State Teachers College in Trenton, now known as TCNJ and graduated from Montclair College. She taught High School business classes at Roselle Park High School until becoming pregnant with her daughter.

After raising her daughter, she continued her teaching career as a home instructor for both Edison Township and Woodbridge Township Schools. In their early years together, she and Edward regularly enjoyed going to Broadway shows. She was very active and enjoyed playing tennis, swimming, and even tried her hand in an adult softball league.

In her daughter’s younger years, Florence coached her daughter’s softball team. She will be greatly missed. Graveside services will be held on Monday, January 28, 2019, 12:30 PM at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge, NJ.
