OBITUARY Florence R Guerrero September 28, 1922 – December 3, 2018 Florence R. Guerrero Dec. 3, 2018 Florence R. Guerrero passed away peacefully at the age of 96 on Dec. 3, 2018.

Born in San Antonio, TX to Jose S. and Concepcion O. Rodriguez, Florence was very proud of her roots in the Mexican Presbyterian Church. Her deep-seated faith and trust in God defined her gentle manner, behavior, and service toward others for her entire life. In 1944 she married preacher’s son George R. Guerrero, and together they raised Diana, George (Nancy), and Paul (Mary Ellen) in a loving, Christian family – one could not ask for better examples upon which to base one’s life.

Even while moving from San Antonio to Corpus Christi to El Paso and raising three rambunctious children, Florence always managed to keep her family and house in order and still have time for her never-ending church work. Florence was preceded in death by her parents, her sister and brother-in-law Velia and Dan Munoz, and her loving husband of 51 years, George. “Granny” is survived by her nephew Danny Munoz, her children, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.

Most of her friends are now gone, but one could never mention her name without eliciting a knowing smile from others for the gentle soul that she was with a quiet, loving heart. She will be greatly missed, but her impact will live forever in those whose lives she touched. The family wishes to thank Altomar Home Health Care, Pastor Carlos, Gabe, and Claudia from CIMA Hospice, and her caregiver Norma for their loving care.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life on Sunday, Dec. 9 from 3:00-6:00 PM at Martin Funeral Home-East, 1460 George Dieter, 79936. A graveside service will be held at Ft.

Bliss National Cemetery at 10:00 AM on Monday, Dec. 10. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 2155 Wedgewood Dr., El Paso, TX 79925.
