Please note the passing of Florence T. Gardner who was born August 4, 1930, in Buffalo, NY. Florence graduated, Cum Laude from Lafayette High School, Magna Cum Laude (3rd in her class) from Buffalo State Teachers College, and earned her Masters Degree in Education from Buffalo State College. Florence followed her passion for teaching over 60 years, beginning in Army Schools in Bayreuth, Germany, continuing as a First Grade Teacher at Hoover School in Kenmore, NY, and culminating as a faculty member at Niagara University.
A reading specialist, Florence tutored hundreds of children, giving the gifts of literacy and her warm and gentle spirit. Florence had a song in her heart for every occasion, won more than her share of door prizes, and made excellent pie. She is survived by two children and three grandchildren.
Family services will be held at a later date.
